Ven­tana and Ven­til­la­tion

Ven­tana, Span­ish for “win­dow,” comes from the Latin ven­tus, for “wind.” From the same root, we get the Eng­lish… dum dum dum… ven­ti­la­tion. Vent and vent: both push back against the wind!
