Naufra­gar and Nav­i­ga­tion

Naufra­gar (Span­ish for “to be ship­wrecked”) comes from the Latin Navis mean­ing “boat.” From that same root we get the Eng­lish… nav­i­ga­tion and navy. The n‑v root is clear­ly vis­i­ble in all of them.
